Natural-Looking Tooth Replacements
At Sage Dental, we believe that no one should have to live with decreased oral function or confidence. We want to help you rediscover the joy of a happy, healthy smile, and enjoy the foods you love with the help of dentures or a bridge.
Missing or damaged teeth take a toll on your confidence and oral function—but we can help. Whether you need dentures or a bridge to restore your smile (or even just a single tooth), our Sage Dental team will focus on aesthetics, fit, and comfort to provide replacements that look like your natural teeth.
We provide:
- Conventional full dentures (placed after the gum tissue has healed)
- Immediate full dentures (placed right away but adjusted over time for the best fit)
- Partial dentures or bridges (attached to natural teeth to fill in small gaps)
What Are Dental Bridges?
A Dental Bridge is a restoration that replaces one or more missing teeth in your mouth. Most often, the bridge is attached to two surrounding teeth, and the middle part of the bridge simply rests on top of the gum line to replace what’s missing. Most bridges can last for decades before replacement may be necessary. They’re a suitable alternative to having dental implants placed.
Why Are Dental Bridges Needed?
A dental bridge is typically needed if you’re missing a natural tooth. The bridge is similar to a crown, but it’s larger and is used to replace missing teeth. Bridges are not only cosmetic, as they fill in your smile, but they are also restorative, improving the overall function of your teeth. You’ll find that it’s easier to enjoy your favorite foods with a new bridge.
Who is a Good Candidate for Dental Bridges?
Through an examination, we can determine if and when you may need a bridge. Patients who aren’t good candidates for implants can benefit from a bridge instead. Bridges are durable and long-lasting, often lasting for decades. They are custom-made for each patient to look completely natural and blend seamlessly with existing teeth.
What Happens During the Dental Bridge Procedure?
We begin by administering a local anesthetic to make the procedure as comfortable as possible. We then prepare the two surrounding teeth to make enough room for the bridge. After this, we take impressions of the area and use these molds to create the new bridge. During your second appointment, the bridge is placed. We’ll adjust the fit and bite of the new bridge, and you’ll leave the office with a brand-new smile. With proper hygiene and care, your bridge can last for many years and still look great.
